The German Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich were beaten 4-1 by VfL Wolfsburg in a League game on Friday night.

The German's topflight had been on break since last december with the Pep Guadiola's side at the top of table with 45 points in 18 games.

Bayern Munich had gone 17 games unbeaten, winning 14 and drawing 3 before been punished the Wolfsburg, who are now 8 points behind the leaders.

Two goals from both Bas Dost and Kevin de Bruyne broke the back of Bayern, who had conceded only four times in the first half, but Juan Bernat's goal10 minutes into the second half was not enough to save his side from the demolition.

It was an emotionally charged evening as both teams paid tribute to Junior Malanda, the Wolfsburg player killed in a car crash earlier this month, in a ceremony before kickoff.

The Belgium youth international died when the car he was a passenger in went off the motorway and flipped over several times on January 10.
