Real Madrid seems to be the only team that may have confirmed their space in the Champions League quarter finals following their victory over their German opponent, Shalke 04 at the Veltins Arena on Wednesday.
Cristiano Ronaldo headed in after 26 minutes for his 73rd Champions League goal with Real's first chance and he set up Marcelo to make it seven wins for the Spanish side in seven Champions League games this season and 10 in a row.
The last time the two sides met, Real thrashed Schalke 6-1 at the same stage of the competition, but this time the goals are not much and the Ancelotti's side kept a clean sheet which is a booster ahead of their next liga game.
At the other venue, Derlis Gonzalez put Basel 1 goal up in the eleventh minute of the game and, Fc Porto cancelled the goal at the 79th minute at the St. Jakob Park.
