Hazard needs a proper pen to commit his future to Chelsea- Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has insisted that pen is the only stumbling block delaying Eden Hazard's contract renewal as the 53-year old expresses confidence the Belgian will extend his contract at the Bridge.

Hazard has been negotiating with the Blues since June on putting pen to paper over a new long-term deal which will make him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

Chelsea will welcome Everton to the Bridge as they continue to push for the EPL title this season, already at the top with seven points and are poised to extend it to ten, provided Man City fails to win their game.

Mourinho has continually stressed his optimism that a deal will be concluded shortly, saying in December that he was “never worried” about the prospect of Hazard leaving.
But the former Lille attacker is still yet to officially extend his stay at Stamford Bridge, though Mourinho is convinced it is just a matter of time.

“I am buying a nice pen,” joked the Portuguese.

“I need a bit of time to go to Sloane Street and buy a proper pen. I just need time to buy the pen and after that I think there is not a long time to go!”

Hazard has been in excellent form for Chelsea this season, scoring nine goals and bagging five assists in 24 Premier League appearances, while he has also struck twice in the Champions League. Goal
