The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have kicked off their U-20 African Youth championship campaign with a 3-1 victory over Senegal on Sunday.
Two goals from Taiwo Awoniyi in the first eleven minutes of the game gave the Manu Garba led side the lead before Ifeanyi Matthew made it three for the Nigeria's national U-20 team, but the host managed to pull one back through Sarr Sarr.
As it stands, Manu Garba's men sit atop of Group A with three goals and three points, and Taiwo Awoniyi- currently leads the park with two goals in one game.
This victory will give the nation's U-20 national team a boost ahead of their game against Congo on Wednesday at the Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor.
