The national team, which is without a coach at the moment was meant to take on Brazil on the proposed date at the Uyo international stadium, but Brazil pulled out for a date against Chile at the Emirate stadium.
The friendly is going to be a re-match between the two sides after the 2013 African Champions failed to go pass their South African counterparts on the final day of qualifiers, when the Eagles required nothing but victory and all they were able to get was a 2-2 draw, which stopped them from defending their title.
The game will be played at the same venue that hosted Nigeria’s first two matches at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations – 1-1 draws against Burkina Faso and Zambia – but the Eagles went all the way to lift the trophy for the first time in 19 years.
Both teams are preparing for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying series. The two last met in South Africa in a qualifying match for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, which ended scoreless in Cape Town. thenff
