Two-time Caf champions league winners, Enyimba FC were stalemated by Giwa Fc draw for a second consecutive season in Aba in a Week 8 tie played on Sunday.
The People's Elephant who played in front of the home fans found it difficult to break the defensive jinx of their visitors as the two teams battled to yet another draw for the second time in their last four encounters in both the league and the Federation Cup.
Giwa FC joined the nation's topflight last season and since have proven to be a force to reckon with, beating many top sides in their debut season.
In their second season in the elite division, they have remained undaunted and have started same way as they only relinquished their top spot to Sunshine Stars after this weekend’s matches.
Giwa FC dropped to second spot with 15 points from eight matches after the draw.
The draw was a setback to Enyimba's push for a place in the top half of the league table. They are now on 12 points from eight games.
