Captain of Giwa Football Club of Jos captain, Charles Henlong has revealed that focusing on the prize is the key to their success in the Nigerian Professional Football League so far.
Giwa held Enyimba to a goalless draw at Aba last weekend to rise up to the second position on the Nigerian topflight, just one point behind league leaders, Sunshine Stars, who defeated 3SC 2-0 at the Ibadan stadium on match week 8.
Charles Henlong said: ” We put off any question of our earnings at so that we can concentrate, work hard so we can get such results in the League. Its not about now but the future, we want to avoid the distraction of money-talks for the sake of our careers, Chasing money without focus could kill our careers.
” So we’ve forgotten about the money. We know it’ll come but gradual. And we know if we keep this work ethic and end on top of the table, good clubs from home and abroad will come, this is our aim and that has kept us going,” henlong told footballlive
