Nigerian track and field star, Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor, has described her disqualification from the 200m event of the Monaco Diamond League on Friday night as disappointing.
Okagbare, who took to the social media to express her displeasure said that she previewed the clip of the race and couldn't ascertain why she was disqualified.
"What a funny day....We don't need to stress about everything all the time. Today I watched my race and just started laughing because I honestly don't know what happened but, all glory to God because it's been Him all the way. #Muchloveformyfans."
The top African woman sprinter could only initially finish fourth in the half-lap, clocking 22.25 seconds, 200ths of a second slower than her personal best.
But after listing her in fourth place, the IAAf later changed her position and placed her last, with no time beside her name and DQ there instead.
Candyce McGrone of the United States of America won the race in an impressive 22.08 seconds, with Dutchwoman Dafine Shippers finishing a close second in 22.09. Jeneba Tarmoh, also of the USA, came third in 22.23 seconds.
McGrone got four Diamond League points with the win, Schippers got two, Tarmoh one.
