Two-time CAF champions league winners, Enyimba have told Esperance of Tunisia to forget about the transfer of midfielder Kingsley Sokari.
Both sides had reached an agreement for the flying Eagles midfielder, as Sokari revealed that he was waiting to join his new side after Nigeria's game against Congo.
But the Aba club explained that the Tunisian side have failed to meet up with the deadline give to them to pay the transfer fee for the player, therefore cancelling the pre-agreed contract.
“Esperance have shown that they are not to be trusted,” explained Enyimba chairman Felix Anyansi-Agwu.
“The time we gave them to pay the player’s transfer fee has since elapsed, but we kept on giving them a period of grace.
“But we can wait no more and so we have decided to cancel the agreement we have with them.
“We will write them officially to that effect.”
Both team agreed that the transfer fee must be paid within one month after reaching a personal deal with the player but the Tunisians have failed to meet up and Enyimba now say they are opting out of the deal.
Meanwhile, Sokari’s return to Enyimba has been delayed as he has joined the Nigeria training camp preparing for the return leg match of their CAF U23 Championship qualifier against Congo.
