The Flying Eagles shot-stopper joined the two-time Caf champions league winners in an undisclosed fee from a lower division side, MFM FC.
They also announced the signing of former Rangers player Musa Najere and Burkina Faso international Ahmed Kone.
The former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer said that the move will help the young lad build the confidence enough to become one of Nigeria’s most sought-after keepers.
He said, “The Enyimba move for Enaholo is a good one for him because it is better to build his career from the home front before travelling outside the shores of the country.
“The experience gotten at home is one that cannot be compared to that abroad. It provides the basics for the players and when he goes abroad he won’t get lost in the scheme of things.
“Enaholo is a good keeper and Enyimba too is a big club here in the country so it is a good one for both parties but the player will learn more from the club and his career as a keeper will be the better for it.”
The former Super Eagles assistant coach also believes that the U-23 team would beat Congo in Sunday’s African U-23 Championships qualifier.
Nigeria won the first leg of the encounter 2-1 in Port Harcourt but will face the hosts in Pointe Noire. Shorunmu said the tactics of the Congolese would not stop them from being defeated at home.
“The victory we had in the first leg will spur the players to a win in Congo on Sunday,” he said.
“It does not matter if the win is slim. Nigeria is aware of the way they play and the tactics they may use. They would be the one to fear us because they do not know what the team would be bringing to them in front of their fans.
“So Nigeria is at an advantage because they are ahead and have what it takes to win the match.” Punch
