FIFA/CAF technical committee member, Adegboye Onigbinde, has urged all football loving Nigerians to throw their weights behind Sunday Oliseh, who will be unveiled as the Super Eagles coach in Abuja today.
Onigbinde, who led the Super Eagles to the Korea/Japan FIFA world cup in 2002 said that Oliseh must respect his employees if he wants to succeed on the job, adding that he should not be carried away by all the praises Nigerians are showering on him.
"He is welcome, I understand he will be unveiled today. He is welcome to the stage, the NFF has set their standards, let’s give him all the support he needs to succeed"
"The major thing I will advice him to do is to be a man of himself, put everything necessary into the team when he gets there."
"Oliseh should be ready to take responsibilities for his action. He was a fantastic player and a gentle man who if given chance will succeed."
'Oliseh and myself are not new to each other, all Nigerian coaches are my men, I cannot turn my back on them." If he keeps to the norm of the job, he will succeed."
"That's why i have some reservation, are we saying there is no Nigerian coach to assist Oliseh? if a Nigerian coach assist him, the culture of our football will be boosted."
"Nigeria must not entertain a foreign assistant coach who will sit in Belgium and coach a national team in Nigeria, That's absurd, its either he comes to the team or the team is moved to his base." Brila fm
Meanwhile, the NFF have confirmed that the presentation ceremony will hold today at the media centre of the National Stadium, Abuja, by 11: AM.
