Gbolahan Salami Lost Concentration In Camp

Warri Wolves forward, Gbolahan Salami failed to make Sunday Oliseh's team for next Saturday's African Cup of Nation's qualifiers against Tanzania due to his lack of concentration at the camp.

“Salami’s mind was not in the training camp. He really wants to move to Norway and the non-release of his passport by the embassy really took his mind away from the training camp. This affected his form and it was why he was dropped,” revealed the official.

“He will most likely get his passport and fly out to sign in Norway before the transfer window closes. Thereafter he will be better focused when he is invited again by the Eagles.”

The former Shooting Stars player scored Nigeria's first goal against Chad in Kaduna when they visited in June before Ighalo sealed the 2-0 victory for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, the current NPFL highest goal scorer, Tunde Adeniji, also did not make the cut because the striking force already has enough from the foreign based teams.

“Adeniji has been scoring goals in test matches, but already we have enough strikers from abroad and that was why he was not picked,” a source disclose. AfricanFootball
