I'm Not Disappointed By Sunday Oliseh's Decision- Enyimba's Ezekiel Bassey

Enyimba FC winger, Ezekiel Bassey has said he wasn't disappointed he was axed from the Super Eagles camp on Friday by coach Sunday Oliseh.

Bassey was amongst the 23-man squad Oliseh called up from various clubs in Nigeria's topflight, out of which six were shortlisted for the games against Tanzania and Niger Republic.

Bassey said that he is confident he will get his chance in the national team but added that he needed to improve on his goal scoring skills.

“I had a great experience at the Super Eagles camp,” Bassey smiles. “I had some orientation as to what to expect before going, so the reality was not as much of a shock to me.”

“In the end, I just believe the timing wasn’t exactly right.”

“I think that, in order to become a complete player, I need to improve my goalscoring ability,” he agrees. “Also, my technique also has to be better.”

The Elephant of Aba widesman, who has returned to his club side ahead of their NPFL weekend fixture insists that his side are on track to win the title this season- making it their seventh NPFL title.

“We will win the league title this season,” this with a steely look of determination in his eye. “We have the quality of champions, and the spirit within the squad is high.”
