Lobi Stars forward, Tony Okpotu, has admitted that he will work harder to get an invite to play for the Super Eagles.
The former Al Ittihad of Libya striker revealed that scoring more goals for his club is one thing he has to do since the coach, Sunday Oliseh has insisted that he wants productive players in his team.
Okpotu has so far found the net eight times for his side this season, but believes that he will do more to get the attention of the Eagles coaching crew next time.
The Lobi forward was not included in the 23-man home based players invited to the national team camp ahead of the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Tanzania next month.
"No bad feelings at all for not making the Eagles list for the Tanzania game. It’s normal as I just came back to the league, also there are other strikers who have scored more goals than me,” the former Al Ittihad of Libya striker told AfricanFootball.com
“I feel if I am to be called to the national team, I have to maintain what I am doing now, which is to score more goals that will help my team make progress in the league."
