Chelsea and Super Eagles midfielder, John Mikel Obi, has described his side's English Premier League goalless draw at Old Trafford on Monday as a fair result.
The Blues are now unbeaten in their last three English Premier League (EPL) games following their big clash with United at the Old Trafford Stadium.
"It was a good result in the end. There were a few chances for them and the same for us as well, but when you look back at the game a draw was a fair result," Mikel told Chelseafc.com.
"Eden [Hazard] has played there (up front) a few times this season and he knew exactly what to do. We went into the game not wanting to lose. We wanted to win, we didn’t want to draw and you could see that from the way we played and the chances we created, but at the same time you don’t want to lose. It was a balanced game and a step forward for us," he continued.
"Both teams are not in the right place now to attack, attack, attack and sometimes you have to be clever and settle for a point.
The Nigerian midfielder, who has played in all three matches since Guus Hiddink replaced Jose Mourinho as Chelsea manager, hailed his club teammate and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
"Asmir Begovic is a fantastic goalkeeper and he did really well when Thibaut was injured, but now he is back, healthy and injury-free, and these are the kind of saves he makes,’ he said. ‘I’d put him up there with the best keepers in the world," Mikel stressed.
The 28-year-old believes that the defending EPL champions can start to move back up the table and certainly hasn’t ruled out a top-four finish.
"I don’t think it’s gone. We’ve got lots of games to catch up and if we keep going in this direction and keeping clean sheets, we will definitely score goals," he added.
"He (Hiddink) was here before and he knows the place. There are different players but it’s the same staff; it’s only me, JT [John Terry] and [Branislav] Ivanovic from when he was here last time, but he knows what to do so we just have to take it step by step.
"We are down there in the table and he can’t just come in and perform miracles, but we want to get out of it and climb up the table, it’s three games now without losing so that’s a good step," Mikel concluded.
