The Nigeria Football Federation seem to have stopped dancing to coach Sunday Oliseh's beats as the NFF have insisted that the Ahmadu Bello stadium in Kaduna will host the African Cup of
Nations make or Mar qualifiers between Nigeria and Egypt in March.
Ademola Olajire, the media officer of the federation confirmed the information, as against the Port Harcourt venue proposed by the head coach of the Nigerian senior national team, Sunday Oliseh.
Olajire said Oliseh can only suggest where he wants to ply, but that he cannot dictate the pace for the federation, who have put plans in motion to welcome the Pharaohs of Egypt to Kaduna come March 23rd.
“I want to tell you without mincing words that the Eagles versus Egypt match would take place in Kaduna and that is final as regards the venue of the match,” Olajire told Goal.
“Well, what I can tell you is that the coach cannot tell the football federation where the match would be played. It is the prerogative of the NFF to pick match venues,” he said.
Nigeria are currently trailing the seven-time AFCON champions with two points and four goals, and must ensure that they win at least one of the two-legged fixture for March, and probably draw the other one- a lose for them may just end their hopes of participating in the 2017 edition of the championship in Gabon.
The three-time African champions missed out of the 2015 edition of the championship after playing a 2-2 draw with South Africa on the last day of qualifiers under coach Stephen Keshi. Goal
