Atlanta ’96 Olympics gold medal winning goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph, has tagged Nigeria’s game Egypt as a must win for the Super Eagles if they must revive the hopes of competing in 2017 finals in Gabon.
The 42-year old former Nigerian international further said that a draw at the Kaduna stadium will be disastrous for the country.
"It is an important game for Nigeria, it is a must win for us because a draw will set us back, we must aim for the three points at our backyard, then going away to fight for draw in Cairo will have sealed the group stage for us. It is a very difficult game, and I hope and pray the boys will come to camp on time so that the coaches will tell them the tactics and formation they want to play and from there we'll pick it up."
On the issue of privatising the national stadium, Dosu said whatever the federal government wishes, then can do but added that they endeavour to put facilities in place for the younger ones to have a place to develop themselves.
“Well, I won't want to dabble into any political issue, it is their property, whatever they want to do, let them do but the important thing is the youths have suffered enough because what we had yesteryears we don't have them anymore, we had a lot of pitches, stadia for young ones to play and today, everywhere has been turned into estates, it's unfortunate it happened, but again, it is their property, we are only hoping the kids will have a place to play so that Nigeria can produce an exceptional player, which we kept on saying we don't. There are no pitches for those small boys to play, those pitches have been turned to something else and we keep on asking for exceptional players, God bless Nigeria my brother."
"Football, no but one of them is into Rugby and I think all I needed is just to encourage him since that's what he wanted and he's doing very well." Dosu told tomiwababalola.com
