Former Zambia coach, Herve Renard rejected Nigeria's offer to coach the Super Eagles because of Boko Haram insurgence in some northern part of the country, a member of the NFF informed AfricanFootball
He also disclosed that Sunday Oliseh was aware of this failed attempt by the Nigeria Football Federation to replace him with
former Cote d’Ivoire coach, which was led by "all-powerful" technical committee chairman, Chris Green, and the president, after the Super Eagles crashed out of the CHAN in Rwanda.
“Oliseh was very much aware of this move and he knew all those who contacted Renard,” a top official disclosed only to AfricanFootball.com
"These officials have good contacts with the coach.
“But unfortunately for them, the French coach said he will not take up the job because he is afraid of Boko Haram (the terrorist organization which has killed over 17,000 people since 2009).”
Renard, who the African Cup of Nations with Zambia in 2012, and Cote d’Ivoire in 2015, ditched Nigeria to join Morocco.
