Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has admitted that the double-headed African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt will not be easy, but insisted that his side will carry the day.
The 41-year old manager said the team's objective at this point is to play a result oriented game; saying the team will not play beautiful football.
Oliseh, who recently had a rough session with the NFF following his side's poor performance at
CHAN in Rwanda maintained that he's been financially incapacitated to scout for Nigerian players in Europe to adequately prepare for the games.
“Scouting Nigerian players in Europe has been relatively tight because I’ve not been able to visit as many as I would love to because I’m struggling financially. Hopefully that will be sorted out soon so that I can talk to most of them face to face.
“I already know the players I want to invite. All I’m looking at now is their current form and their mental state. That is why I need to speak with them for at least 20 minutes face to face before they get invited.
“We plan to get results. Our plan is to play a result-oriented game. We will not guarantee that these games will be beautiful but we are going to win. I’m optimistic that we will carry the day.”
Oliseh said camping for the games will begin two weeks to the first leg with home-based professionals, some of whom would be part of the final squad, and also hinted that he has plans for one friendly game, which he said has yet to be confirmed.
