Super Falcons Set To Give Super Falcons New Manager

The Nigeria Football Federation have disclosed that they are working hard to hire a substantive coach for the nation's women national football team.

This information was released by the federation's general secretary,  Mohammed Sanusi, who

admitted that the Super Falcons needed to have commenced training for the Afeican Women Championship later this year.

Christopher Danjuma has been in charge of the team since Edwin Okon was fired  after exiting the women world cup in Canada in 2015.

Sanusi said the football house is not unmindful of the task before the seventh time African champions and will do the needful to chart a positive course for the side.

“Very shortly we will announce coaches for Super Falcons, the executive board and the technical committee are working assiduously hard to ensure they get their programmes off the ground.

“We are quite aware of their qualifying matches for the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations.

“Falcons are on bye for the first round of matches in March but will commence their campaign in the second round coming up in April.

“We will certainly do the needful to name a quality coach that will guide them successfully in the qualifying race,” said Sanusi to supersport.com.

Falcons were drawn bye together with Ghana, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Equatorial Guinea in the first round but must fence off the challenge of either of the West African foes, Senegal or Guinea to chance defending the title in the final billed for Cameroon from November 19 – December 03.

First round of matches will hold in March while second round of first leg matches hold between April 8 - 10 and the second round matches hold April 22 - 24.

Seven countries will emerge from the qualifying campaigns to be joined by the hosts, Cameroon for the final showdown.
