Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye has confirmed that Arsenal's Alex Iwobi, missed Tueday's training due to diarrhea, and not because he doesn't want to play for Nigeria.
Ibitoye insisted that the teenager is fully committed to playing for Nigeria, as against the rumours
going round in the media that the Gunner is skeptical of playing for Nigeria.
The Arsenal man has also made the trip to Kaduna and sat next to Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel, throughout the journey to the Northern Nigerian city.
"Yes Alex Iwobi missed training," Super Eagles spokesman, Toyin Ibitoye, told supersport.com as the team make the short trip to Kaduna from Abuja.
"But it was due to traveller's diarrhea, and he was told to rest. So it shouldn't be any reason to panic. As I speak Alex is with us. He ate lunch to show he's fine. If he wanted to play for England, he would not have travelled down to Nigeria or be with us in the team bus now (headed to Kaduna) or even dressed in the green and white colours of Nigeria."
Iwobi has made two appearances for Nigeria but they were in international friendly matches against DR Congo and Cameroon last year.
The 19-year-old, over the weekend, made his first league start for Arsenal and scored in the side's 2-0 win at Everton and capped it up with a man-of-the-match performance.
