Siasia Shortlists Osimhen; Awoniyi, 18 Others For Brazil Friendly

FSV Frankfurt forward, Taiwo Awoniyi and Victor Osimhen will lead Nigeria's U23 attack for the international friendly game against Brazil game next week.

Siasia, as the Dream Team VI continues their preparations for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil. 

Siasia released the names of 20 players that will travel to Rio ahead next week’s international friendly against Brazil.

Anderlecht forward Ezekiel Imoh and Wolfsburg’s Victor Osimhen made the final cut alongside experienced defender Chizoba Amaefule.

Usman Mohammed and Bright Onyedikachi were dropped owing to visa issues as both players submitted their passports late, while left back Chima Akas was left out because he travelled with Enyimba for a Caf Champions League game in Burundi.

Nigeria U23 are expected to depart for Brazil via South Africa from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Sunday.  On arrival in Sao Paulo, the Nigerian delegation would be flown to Vitoria where they would be lodged at the Hotel Ilha Do Boi-Senac.
