AWC Qualifiers: Super Falcons Welcome Senegal To Abuja After Playing 1-1 In Dakar

Florence Omagbemi's Super Falcons failed to take all three points against Senegal in Dakar last Friday in an Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifying match.

Chioma Wogu came in from the bench to put Nigeria ahead in the game but the home team fought
their way back to earn a point in the encounter which was played at the Stade Demba Diop in the Senegalese capital.

Senegal, winners over Guinea in the previous round, mounted pressure in the second period and got the equalizer to ensure a respectable result in front of their fans.

The return leg will take place at the National Stadium Complex, Abuja on Tuesday, 12th April starting from 4pm.

Nigeria are the most successful women's team on the African continent with a record of 9 titles, and they are also the defending champions, beating Cameroon 2-0 in the final game of the 2014 edition in Namibia.

The Super Falcons won the maiden edition of the tournament in 1991, and have gone to win eight others after then (1995, 1998*, 2000, 2002*, 2004, 2006*, 2010, 2014)
