Fernando got his side's first goal in the 35th minute after nodding home a well taken corner kick, while Sergio Aguero doubled City's lead via a spot kick two minutes before half time.
Stoke City began the second half with a little spark but Kelechi Iheanacho's 64th minute goal sank
Mark Hughes men, and just ten minutes after, he got his brace with an assist from Ivory Coast's Wilfried Bony.
Meanwhile, former Nigerian captain, Nwankwo Kanu, has congratulated the 19-year old forward after the game.
