Ikorodu United head coach, Sam Okpodu, has blamed his side's poor form in the Nigeria Professional Football League on inexperience.
The Oga boys failed to convert the penalty they got in their game against Sunshine Stars of Akure in NPFl's Match day 11 at the Onikan stadium, leaving the Lagos team at the bottom of the log.
Ikorodu has six points from their eleven games already played this season- winning one, drawing three and losing the remaining seven.
"It's obvious that the boys are giving their best but that's all they can offer. It doesn't matter how you look at it."
"I said it before now that the squad is very young, inexperience and maturity is non existent in the team. If such quality is lacking in a team there's really nothing one can do other than to manage till mid-season and that's what we are doing," Okpodu told Goal.
"The players are giving everything they've got but it's a fact that you can't give what you don't have. Experience is key at this level but what we have here is a young team who are meant to sit and learn from the experienced players but right now what we have here are a bunch of young lads out there playing."
The former Warri Wolves coach showed courage despite the challenges at Ikorodu United when Goal asked him how many points he's confident to pick from the available 27 by mid-season.
"Anything is possible. We shall keep fighting and hope to pick as many points as possible," Okpodu concluded
