It Is Too Early To Decide Who Wins NPFL Title- Rangers Coach

Rangers head coach, Imama Amapakabo, has said it is too early in the Nigeria Professional Football League season to be talking about who will win the title but said that his side's still has a lot to do as the season progresses.

The Flying Antelopes have bequeathed their leadership position at the summit of the league to Giwa FC after playing a 1-1 draw
with MFM FC at the Agege stadium in one of the NPFL midweek fixtures.

Rangers, before the game were league leaders and the coach of the side said the home team beat his expectation with their performance, adding that his boys got carried away with their early lead and relaxed in the other half of the game.

"An exciting game like I expected it to be, you know a high tempo game, I will give kudos to my opponents they did one orr two things short of what I expected of them and my team also, we gave away to much possession I thought we wouldn't have given away but then I think it's just bout ten weeks into the season and I believe we still have so much to do."

"There will be a three points to play for like I always say, Rangers will play for three points. Rangers came to Lagos to play for all three points, unfortunately we are going with one and MFM is having one, and the league management company is also having one."

"You see things like that you know, as a coach you plan to come and pay to form, and when players get on to the pitch and they act differently from what you plan, it's also a problem. We knew the team we were coming to play are strong, and we knew where the strong points were from our scouting reports, we knew what they are able to bring on so we planned for it."

"We planned to play a containment and a counter and we were able to get a goal from it, but unfortunately, my players along the line got carried away, and another one or two don't function properly, and when it happens like that in a game, it is left for the remaining eight to function properly, but unfortunately, we conceded a goal."

I'm unsatisfied because like I said I came for all three points, yes, kudos to the mfm team because before we started the game, I told my players that we were coming to play against a team, most of the club's in Nigeria have individual players but mfm is a team, and we knew we were coming to play against a team and kudos to them once more because they brought to the table one or two things that were exciting and I think it's a good advert for Nigerian football."

"Normally I don't give out my impression about officiating until I watch the game the second time, in my own thinking I thought it was a good goal, in the referee's thinking he thought it wasn't, so I can't overrule whatever the referee has decided." Rangers coach told the media after the game

Amapakabo said he wasn't satisfied with the result but insisted that claiming a point in that game was commendable, saying MFM are one of the few teams that are in the Nigerian topflight today.
