Solomon Dalung Gives NFF Four Weeks Ultimatum For Foreign Coach Bid

The sports minister, Solomon Dalung has given the Nigeria Football Federation's technical committee four weeks to submit a comprehensive report, stating why Nigeria must hire a foreign coach.

He added that they must also tell him in the report how they intend to pay the salary of the white
man after a brief meeting with the leadership of the NFF in Abuja on Tuesday.

“We debated extensively on the issue of a foreign coach and it was agreed that the technical committee to make a case why we would need a foreign coach,” said Dalung.

“We need to know where we will get the funds, there should be an established source of funding for a foreign coach.

“I expect a report from the NFF in four weeks.”

Brazilian coach Otto Gloria and Dutchman Clemens Westerhof led Nigeria to win their first two AFCON titles in 1980 and 1994, respectively.

Former Nigeria skipper Stephen Keshi led the country to a third continental triumph three years ago.

Last week, the Super Eagles failed to qualify for a second straight AFCON when they lost 1-0 to Egypt in Alexandria.

They will now focus on the qualifying tournament for the 2018 World Cup, which begins in October. Africanfootball
