Sunshine Stars captain, Abe Sunday, has commended his teammates for grabbing a point against Plateau United in their last Sunday's Nigeria Professional Football league game, but added that they must keep the form if they dream to win a title this season.
The Akure Gunners forced the Plateau outfit to a goalless draw on NPFL match day 15 fixture, and
the captain believes they will finish the season with either of the NPFL title or Federation Cup title this season.
Solomon Ogbeide’s men currently occupy the 14th spot on the NPFL log and will face another stern test in the form of high-flying Enugu Rangers on Wednesday.
The former Flying Eagles’ star believes Sunshine’s away form is a proof they can end their wait for silverware not minding their shaky start to the season.
"We got a good result against Plateau United because we played the game of our lives and if we continue this way, we will win a trophy and that is the target," Sunday told Goal.
"Though we had a shaky start, I am sure we'll achieve something important this time around having missed out narrowly last season."
"If we just keep on doing our best, the results will definitely come and I know our players are good enough to lift a trophy without any extra additions."
"Each game keeps getting tougher but we are up to the task," he concluded. Goal
