Amuneke Orders Flying Eagles Back To Camp Ahead Of Sudan Clash

Flying Eagles head coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, has returned to camp with his U20 boys ahead of their last phase of qualifiers against Sudan for the 2017 African U20 championship in Zambia.

The Nigerian U20 defeated Burundi 2-1, to progress to the final stage of the qualifiers on a 3-1 aggregate, and the coach is not leaving un-turn, as he begins early preparations for his side's next foe.

The defending champions were meant to have 10 days break but the former U17 coach has cut it short for the next month's game.

"We have been ordered back to camp to start preparations for the game against Sudan," a member of the squad revealed to Completesportsnigeria

"After the game against Burundi, we were told to embark on a 10- day break, but the coach has decided to change his mind."

"We will begin preparations for the game against Sudan today and we hope to make it to Zambia."

Sudan will host the first leg of the qualifier on July 8, while the return fixture will be played in Nigeria a fortnight later."

The Flying Eagles who have won seven African U-20 titles in the past won the last edition of the competition in Senegal.

Zambia will host the next edition of the competition in 2017.
