Nigeria football federation technical committee chairman, Chris Green, has revealed that the football federation are currently in a confused state, as they are not sure who the next Super Eagles gaffer will be.
Just recently, the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick said that the FA are on the verge on landing a Serbian coach,while his first Vice President, Seyi Akinwunmi, insisted that thentriomof Salisu Yusuf, Imama Amapakabo and Kennedy Boboye are the best option for the national team.
Green said they are not in a hurry to hire just anybody for the eagles, baring in mind that the 2018
World Cup qualifiers is almost around the corner and Nigeria will be facing one of the power houses in African football.
He added that the soccer ruling body will not limit its search to the colour of the skin as long as the coach is ready to work in Nigeria.
"From the technical committee angle we are looking for a coach that is suitable for the super eagles, we want to get the best and we are not limiting it to indigenous coaches or expatriates coaches”, Green said
"We are looking at the kind of person that will be able to meet our aspirations, as you can see we are beginning afresh and it is a deliberate plan to start afresh."
On whether the trio of Salisu Yusuf ,Imama Amapakabo and Kennedy Boboye will remain in the technical crew whenever a substantive coach is named ,the NFF technical committee boss said they are going nowhere.
"We are not in a hurry to dispense this coaches because we don’t have any reason to do that, we have a plan and our plan is to get a pool of coaches that we will be calling to take over our team as the demand arises"
"Even if we are going to get any coach from wherever, Salisu and the rest will remain because as we speak they need the necessary exposure and experience, so if we give them the exposure and experience today we will in turn benefit from them tomorrow."
"And so for now, suffice me to say, they are the ones coaching, if we see something better we will bring the person in to add up to what we have here and improve our coaches."
