Two second half goals from Victor Osimhen and KelechiNwakali sealed the Flying Eagles victory over their Burundian U20 counterpart on Satruday at the UJ Esuene stadium in calabar.
Nigeria got their first goal via a penalty kick in the 73rd minute of the encounter, while the team
captain, Nwakali doubled the Nigerian U20 side's lead in the 80th minute, to progress to the final stage of the qualifiers on a 3-1 aggregate.
Burundi pulled a goal back a minute from full time when Ndikumana Magloire cashed in on laxity in the Flying Eagles defence to make hay.
The Flying Eagles were comfortable in Calabar as they enjoyed possession, but it only took them longer time to find the net.
Nigeria will now meet Sudan on July 8 for the final round of the qualifiers, which will determine who will go Zambia for the African U20 Nations Cup.
