AFCON 20: Flying Eagles Came From Behind To Sudan 2-1

Flying Eagles came from one goal down to beat host, Sudan 2-1 in the first leg of the final phase of the CAF U20 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday.

The Emmanuel Amuneke-led team conceded to Sudan in the 27th minute of the game, and trailed the home team for the rest of the 18 minutes of the first half.

The Nigerian U20 continued in their quest in search for a goal in the second half, as coach Amuneke substituted Orji Okonkwo for Kingsley Michael in the 63rd minute of the encounter, and four minutes later, Samuel Chukwueze, gave Nigeria a lifeline in the 67th minute.

Wolfsburg bound striker, Victor Osimhen, made it two for the visitors in the four minutes from final whistle, to put Nigeria at an advantage ahead of the second leg in Lagos on July 23.

Nigeria are the defending champions of the CAF U20 championship.
