Team Nigeria and Nigeria U23 captain, Mikel John Obi, has expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to their Rio 2016 Olympics, which came to an end on Saturday with a bronze medal.
The Nigerian U23 team became the only contingent from team Nigeria to put the country on the medals table after beating Honduras 3-2 in their 3rd place match last weekend.
Nigeria has now joined the list of countries to have all three medals- gold in Atlanta '96, Beijing 2008, we came back with silver medal and now bronze medal in Brazil.
The Chelsea midfielder also commended his U23 team-mates for showing such professionalism and excellent spirit in Brazil despite the setbacks they encountered enroute Brazil.

The former Lyn Oslo midfielder, who missed the 2008 edition in Beijing, China where Nigeria won Silver medal also said he was proud his side won't be returning to the country empty-handed.
"To lead this team to an Olympic medal, and make Nigerians proud - this is why I play football,” Obi tweeted.
