Daniel Amokachi will lead Super Eagles against ali and Cote d’Ivoire- Fanny Amun

A former national team coach, Fanny Amun has urged the Nigeria Football Federation to give Daniel Amokachi a chance to head the Super Eagles.

Amokachi, who assisted Stephen Keshi all through his tenure as the chief coach of the nation's national team will lead the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the international friendlies against Mali and Cote d’Ivoire to once again prove his coaching competencies.

The Bull, as he was popular called during his active days in football, played for the national team, winning the nation's cup in 1994 and also qualified for the world cup for the first time in the same year, but ended their campaign in the second round of the championship

“Amokachi is a respected personality in the team as well having played diligently during his days and been around the team for a while as an assistant Coach and also noted that weeding off completely the makeup of the technical crew of the national team is not always needed”

“As far as I’m concerned, it’s a golden opportunity for him to prove himself as the leader of the team and I wish him all the best” footballlive

He said that this is one chance that the former Everton of England player has got to prove himself to head the nation's national team, after Stephen's Keshi's contract has been a  subject of discussion over some time now.
Amun who guided the Golden Eaglets to victory in Japan 1993, the FIFA World Cup stated that God will give the present NFF board the wisdom to settle the issues still lingering with erstwhile coach Stephen Keshi.
