Flying Eagles reserved goalkeeper, Ojo Olorunleke has revealed that the tactical and technical brilliance of the coach Manu Garba-led technical crew led them to triumph at the African Youth Championship in Senegal was due to the .
Olorunleke, who came in as a substitute in the Flying Eagles second game against Congo after Enahalo was redcarded also showered praises on his colleagues for the hard work and quality preparation inspired the team's excellent show.
"I feel excited, so happy and grateful to God. It's God that gave us the success in Senegal. We really worked hard for it. We really didn't go there with the aim of not winning the trophy," Olorunleke told Goal.
"First it is God- I believe in him because I feel he is the one behind our success, secondly the training we had here in Nigeria and even Senegal - we never relent but kept working hard from the group stage upto the finals which God crowned our efforts with winning the trophy.
"We actually went because we believe with God on our side we could go there and bring home the trophy. Here we are rejoicing for what God has done," the 19-year-old who was named Goal NPFL goalkeeper of the season 2014 continued.
"Our coaches were wonderful. The entire technical crew knew what it takes, what they have to do, did everything right that's why we won the tournament. They are people the whole country should to be proud of being in charge of the team.
The Giwa FC goalkeeper who hails from Kogi State expressed joy at clinching gold on his first international outing in the green and white colours of Nigeria, describing it as a wonderful beginning to his success-ridden career.
"Yea, I will say this is just the beginning because I believe in what my God can do. I'm just starting and getting to record this kind of great achievement in just a start means a lot and will go along way in help and encourage me to work hard more for bigger success ahead," he concluded. Goal
