The Nigeria Football Federation’s Technical Director, Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, has given the Super Falcons a target of qualifying for the All African Games as well as the Olympic games.

The nation’s women senior national team will play Mali in Bamako this weekend for a spot in the two games this year, and Ikpeme has told them that making it to the games will be good for the image of the nation.

The NFF Technical Director said this when he visited the Edwin Okon-led side at the FIFA Goal Project pitch to bid the girls farewell as they travel to Mali for the All-Africa Games qualifier this weekend.

“You must go to Mali and beat them. There is no compromise; you must beat them both away in Bamako and here in Abuja. That same Mali, you must conquer in the first round of the qualifying race for the 2016 Olympic Games,” said Ikpeme.

He added: “In a nutshell, every qualifier you are going to play for All Africa Games and Olympics must be won home and away. That is the first assignment for you girls; the World Cup which will start in June is the second assignment and very important too, because you girls must go beyond the group stage at the World Cup.” NFF
