Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini has praised his City players following their 2-0 win over Sam Allardyce's side, West Ham on Sunday.
The Chilean manager said after the match that the three points was highly important for his side's ambition of European football next season, after falling out of the title race with about six defeats, with their latest in the hands of their neighbours, Manchester United.

City coach had realised that winning the title was out of reach at this point but he's ensuring that his team doesn't fall out of the top four for a chance to participate in next season's champions league.
However, the victory was somewhat soured by a facial injury sustained by David Silva, with the Spaniard stretchered off after he was caught by Cheikhou Kouyate's stray elbow.
"It was very important for our team to win because we had come from two defeats in a row and when one of those defeats is a derby it's worse," Pellegrini said.
"It was very important to try to be a consistent team and I think that we played - especially the first 65 minutes until the injury to David - as a consistent team."
"I think that we played a whole game."
