The Nigeria Football Federation have announced the re-appointment of coach Stephen Keshi as the Super Eagles gaffer for the next two years.

The 53-year-old, who signed a contract binding him to the rules and regulations of the NFF was meant to be unveiled last Friday, but due to the unavailability of the NFF president, the signing and unveiling could not hold.

Keshi, who contract ended with Nigeria after losing to France in Brazil in 2014 had been asked to work on a per-game basis which the country failed to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The former Mali and Togo boss is expected to take Nigeria to the 2017 AFCON championship in Gabon after which his contract will expire, but renewal would be determined by success or otherwise in the Afcon qualifiers and the tournament in Gabon.

He has also been kept on a tighter leash as he is expected to take decisions under the supervision of the Technical Committee of the NFF.

Meanwhile, Keshi’s third spell in charge will see a few changes in his backroom staff as former assistant coach Daniel Amokachi has been dropped.

His place will be taken up by former Kano Pillars coach Salisu Yusuf.
