Barcelona signs Vidal on a five-year contract

The 2014/15 European champions, Barcelona have made Sevilla winger, Aleix Vidal as their first recruit after winning their third title for the season.

Vidal, who was helped the Spanish side to successfully reclaim the Europa League title they won the previous season put pen to paper with the Catalans on a five-year contract, but will not play any game until January, when Barcelona would have served the transfer ban placed on them.

Barcelona signed the 25-year old defender to replace Dani Alves when he eventually moves away from the Camp Nou, and he will be unveiled on Monday at 14:15CET following medical tests in Barcelona.

Vidal, who can operate as both a winger and an attacking full-back, has made 47 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four times and registering 11 assists.

Under the terms of Barca's current transfer ban, Vidal - who could make his Spain debut this week - would be unable to play for the Blaugrana until January 2016 at the earliest.
