Former Super Eagles player, Sani Kaita, has given kudos to the Flying Eagles team from bouncing back from a defeat to Brazil, to conquer North Korea and Hungary in their second and third games respectively.
The Manu Garba-led national U-20 kicked off their campaign in New Zealand with a 4-2 defeat to Brazil due to some lapses, but the team came back from that defeat to beat N. Korea 4-0 and rounded off group games with a 2-0 victory over Hungary.
The African champions will now face the European champions in the next round of the championship scheduled for Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, Kaita, who was a member of the 2005 team that lost 2-0 to Argentina in said with these results, that the Nigeria's U-20 seem to be getting stronger each match day, adding that they can overcome any mountain whatsoever in the ongoing tournament.
“I said it before their last two matches against North Korea and Hungary that these boys have the potential to go all the way and their problem may lie only in themselves,” Kaita told Goal.
“With victories in their last two matches, they have proved to Nigerians that they have the mentality to overcome every challenge that they face at the ongoing World Cup. They were awesome against Hungary and I will implore them to get even better against Germany.” Goal
