Chilean defender, Gonzalo Jara has been handed a three-match ban by the Conmebol disciplinary tribunal which means that his Copa America experience has come to an end.
The 29-year old defender was suspended for the rest of South American championship following his clash with Edinson Cavani, whom after reacting got a 2nd yellow card in the game and was subsequently suspended.
This then made the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) file a report against the Mainz 05 defender was later charged with an unsportsmanlike conduct towards the 28-year-old.
In addition to the suspension, Conmebol have also handed down a fine of US$7,500.
Chile have two games left in the tournament, so the punishment will carry over to the start of the qualification progress for World Cup 2018.
Meanwhile, Conmebol have decided to postpone making a decision on the Chilean Football Federation's (ANFP) complaint regarding the actions of a number of Uruguay players in the closing stages of the match until after the tournament. Goal
