Liverpool Ladies forward, Asisat Oshoala has insisted that the Super Falcons must play for pride after losing a spot in the final of the women's category of the All African Games in Congo Brazzaville.
The Christopher Danjuma led team were ousted in the semi finals of the championship on Tuesday night after losing 2-1 to Cameroon.
The African Footballer of the year expressed her sadness for missing out of the tourney but urged then they can still claim the bronze medal at the end of the day.
"I'm not happy missing the All African Games but I wish the girls good luck. It's been tough no doubt but I believe they have tried to make the country proud," Oshoala told Goal .
"They just have to play together and stay strong no matter what the game brings. They should play like one family till the end. I'm sure of their victory [in the bronze medal match]," she concluded.
The 2-1 loss to Cameroon was the second defeat of the Nigerian women at the All African Games as they also lost by the same scoreline in their Group A game against upcoming third place opponents Cote d'Ivoire.
Strikes from Therese Abane and Madeleine Ngo Mani overshadowed Onome Ebi's equaliser to stop the reigning African champions from reaching the finals.
