Ighalo Expressed Excitement With Watford's Contract Extension

Super Eagles forward, Jude Odion Ighalo has expressed satisfaction with his English Premiership side, Watford FC, after extending his stay at the club.

The Nigerian international, who was shunned by coach Sunday Oliseh in Nigeria's last outing to Tanzania in Dar Es Salam last weekend in FIFA international break signed a new five-year contract with the club which expires in 2020.

The 26-year old forward said he was happy to have put the contract issues behind him and focus on his game, adding that the everyone is a family in and outside of the dressing room.

"I am happy to finally seal a new deal with Watford after long negotiations,” he told AfricanFootball.com

"I am happy here, the fans love me. I enjoy the good atmosphere in the team and the dressing room. We are like a family here at Watford. I am happy here playing in the best league in the world, so I don't see any reasons to leave. I thank God for all the favours."

Ighalo has also been honoured by his former La Liga team Granada after one of their stadium entrances was named after him and three other players.

"It is a great honour for me and my family,” he said.

“They know how I have helped the team when I was there, fighting and defending the shirt of the club to get to La Liga. I give God all the glory for everything."

Ighalo is one of the few Nigerian players who at the moment gets an average playing time. AfricanFootball
