Siasia Excited With His Boys After Ghana Win

The head coach of the Nigeria U23 side, Samson Siasia, has revealed that the Dream Team VI were impressive with their performance that gave them a 2-0 victory over the Black Meteors of Ghana on Wednesday.

The Nigerian side opened their 2015 All African Games campaign with a bang over their West African rival which has earned them a place in the next round of the championship in Congo.

Siasia said that the duo of Kingsley Sokari and left back Ndifreke Effiong, who can also play right back, worked very hard for the team to beat the Ghanaians via goals from striker Junior Ajayi in the 55th minute and Sokari in the 87th minute.

“To be honest with you, I was a happy coach after the end of the game because my boys worked hard in the match from the blast of the referee’s whistle to the end and got a deserved three points at stake despite the stiff opposition from the Ghanaian team,” Siasia told Goal.

“I am particularly impressed with the entire team and the players. I am happy with the performance of Sokari, Effiong and [Aminu] Umar. They put up an impressive performance in the match.”

He reiterated his ambition was lead the same team to the African U23 Championship in Senegal later in the year as African champions.

“Like I said before, I want to lead this team to the Africa U23 Championship as African champion and I am confident that with God on our side we will achieve this feat at the end of the Games here in Congo Brazzaville,” he said.

Their next game comes up against Senegal who drew 0-0 with Ghana in their first game. Goal
