The principal of Giwa FC, Ambassador Chris Giwa has revealed that he hasn't spoken to anybody about appointing the former Flying Eagles coach, Manu Garba.

The entire Nigeria Professional Football League woke up to the tweet on Thursday morning on Giwa fc official handle that the former Flying Eaglets coach has been appointed, which the man in question, Garba refuted almost immediately.

But Ambassador Giwa vehemently rubbished the reports saying the team is yet to make decision on a new substantive coach.

"I have not discussed about Manu Garba. I never told anybody or journalists about him let alone about us discussing to bring him to work with us," Giwa told Goal.

"I'm the proprietor of the club and I have not held any discussion about him. I don't know where this is coming from. Personally, I don't believe in making noise about my team because I feel seeing is believing. If we have a new coach today - everyone will know.

"Reports like these are why i don't like talk to the press about things I do because some journalists always want to preempt what has never happened," he said.

When asked about the authenticity of the Twitter announcement, he said: "As the chairman of the club, I never made any announcement of such or discussed anything about a new coach."

Fifth-placed Giwa will host Sharks in a Week 30 match at Rwang Pam Stadium on Sunday. Goal
