We Will Keep Fighting For The Title- Seun Olutayo

Sunshine Stars player, Seun Olulayo has expressed optimism the Akure Gunners, who spanked Kwara United 2-1 in Nigeria Professional Football League game last weekend still have hope of lifting the NPFL title this season.

The Akure Gunners, who surrendered their leadership to
Enyimba are currently 4th on the league table, 5 points behind Enyimba and just one point shy of Warri Wolves and Wikki Tourist's who are second and third respectively on the table.

The Akure Gunners came from a goal down to win 2-1 at Kwara United to move to the fourth position on the league table.

“It was great winning in Ilorin because we have not been winning in recent times. That has helped us recover some ground in the Nigerian league,” Olulayo told Goal.

“We want to play on the continent and we will only achieve that by winning more matches. It will be tough to win the league, but Sunshine Stars won’t stop fighting until it’s over.”

With eight games left in the NPFL, the midfielder stressed that the Akure Gunners will take the remaining games very serious with the hope of overtaking Enyimba, Warri Wolves and Wikki Tourist.

“We are going to give more than a 100 percent in our remaining games,” he continued.

“If we could get an away win in Ilorin, then we don’t have any excuse not to win anywhere.

“Officiating too is very important here also, because that has hindered us from picking away wins this season.

“All things being equal, we would have the last laugh at the end of the season and book a place to play in the Caf Champions League,” he concluded.

Sunshine Stars will welcome Abia Warriors in their next game at the Akure Township Stadium on match day 31, hoping to keep their title pursuit in place. Goal
