World Number One Ends Nigeria's Aruna Quadri's Olympics Campaign

Aruna Quadri's hopes of setting another record for Nigeria and Africa at the ongoing Rio Olympic Games in Brazil has ended following his 4-0 defeat to the current world number one, Ma Long in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The 28-year old, who set new record for Nigeria and Africa by becoming the first African to reach the championship's quarter final stage after beating former world number one, Timo Boll in the round of 16.

Long ran riot over the 27-year old athlete from start to finish in the game- winning the four sets; 11-4, 11-2, 11-6 and 11-7, who was the last Nigerian and Africa's last man standing in the tourney.

Quadri was a quarter-finalist at the Liebherr 2014 Men’s World Cup in the German city of Düsseldorf.
