The Nigerian Professional Premier League has lost another of its rising stars,
Azubuike Egwuekwe to Isreali's side Hapoel Tel Aviv.
The Super Eagles and Warri Wolves defender who was linked with a move to EPL's West Ham United
completed his deal for an undisclosed fee with the club after passing medicals with the Red Demons on Friday.
"Nigerian Egwuekwe Azubuike landed in Israel in the morning and signed after passing medical tests earlier this week,” revealed the club on their website.
The tall defender, who was a part of the home-based Eagles outing at the United Arab Emirate for friendly games organised for the national team to keep them in shape since they failed to defend the title they won in Equitorial Guinea was also wanted by Watford but the deal did not see the light of the day.
Egwuekwe has been handed jersey 3 for the club that currently ranks eight on the Ligat HaAL log and the Nigerian international is unlikely to debut for his new side against Hapoel Petach Tikva on Saturday. Goal
