Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers has likened Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona forward, Luis Suarez after the Brazilian came from behind to beat Bolton 2-1 in their FA Cup replay.

Bolton opened scoring through a penalty kick before England player, Raheem Sterling gave Liverpool a lifeline in the game, and Coutinho doubled the Brendan Rodger's side lead in the stoppage time.

The 22-year-old’s recently committed his future to the Anfield side, and the coach, Rodgers believes he has the potential to become one of the best players in the world.

"You would pay money to watch the kid," he said.
"He is a great role model for lots of technical players in this country. He will become world class in the next couple of years.

"Luis Suarez grew and grew in this team and I can see Coutinho the same way, although he might not be as prolific.

"Signing a new deal shows he is really committed to Liverpool and his development."

Rodgers’ men sealed their progress into the fifth round as Sterling cancelled out Eidur Gudjohnsen’s penalty before Coutinho’s injury-time strike.

Next up is a fifth-round clash with Crystal Palace and the Reds boss is in high spirits, with their league form much improved and the chance of a trophy increasing further.

"We have got a great habit at the minute which is winning games," Rodgers added.

"You can't question the character. They have shown a real strong mentality in my time here.

"At 1-0 I expected us to win it. The confidence at the moment is very high.

"Our composure after the penalty - it was never a penalty - was very good. We scored two and could have had many more." Teamtalk
