The coach of the national U-23 team, Samson Siasia, has attributed his side's 4-1 success against Gabon last weekend was as a result of the team's hard work.

Two goals each from Junior Ajayi plus strikes from Oghenekaro Etebo gave the Sia-one side all the victory in the first leg advantage in the 2015 All African Games qualifier played in Libreville with the second leg in a fortnight.

Siasia, who once managed the Super Eagles of Nigeria explained that considering the short peroid of assembling the team, that the result they achieved was commendable and believe they are still a work-in-progress as he continues to strengthen his squad in every department as long as they play together.

He commended his boys for their spectacular show in Libreville.

"Having in mind that this team has been together for barely three months, Nigerians should appreciate what these boys did in Libreville," Siasia said..

"I am really impressed with all of them, they played as a team, meaning that all the hard work we put them through in the past three months has not been in vain," he concluded. Goal
